Breastfeeding Grand Rounds 2024: The Impact of Social Media on Breastfeeding/Chestfeeding

At the conclusion of the presentation, the participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the current social media platforms used by parents for breastfeeding/chestfeeding support and information
  2. Summarize the current evidence of the impact that technology and social media have on infant feeding choices and the relationship between the breastfeeding/chestfeeding dyad.
  3. Explain how the infant feeding choices of parents are influenced by content presented on social media and marketed by infant formula companies.
  4. List the ways professionals can use social media to provide evidence-based breastfeeding/chestfeeding education and support to minimize the risk of negative content.
