Program Description:
This presentation will discuss the impact of handling select agents in laboratories, the workings of the public health laboratory structure in New York State, and the federal networks that have been developed to safeguard the public.
Objectives:
At the conclusion of the presentation, the participants will be able to:
- Understand the impact of handling select agents in laboratories.
- Describe the workings of the public health laboratory structure in New York State.
- Identify federal networks that have been developed to safeguard the public.
Who Should Attend:
National audience of state and local public health professionals, appropriate representatives from regional health departments, health-care facilities, emergency department workers, county executive offices and emergency management offices, public health partners (e.g., law enforcement, healthcare professionals, EMS, media representatives, etc) selected by each local health region with whom they are likely to interact around BT issues.
