CDR HEPC Virtual Diagnosis of Emergent Cases in Pediatric Infectious Diseases

Program Description:
This training will provide a broad overview of potential care needs for the pediatric patient involved in an emergency/disaster situation. This training is part of a 1 day training sponsored by the Capital District Regional Health Emergency Preparedness Coalition. Following participation in this learning activity, the learner will be able to: • Topics covered include: • Epidemiology and pathogens of emerging infectious diseases • Symptomatology • Diagnosis • Treatment and management strategies. CEUs available until May 2018.

At the conclusion of the presentation, the participants will be able to:

  1. Identify clinically emergent infectious diseases through visual diagnosis
  2. Describe the clinical course of emergent infectious diseases
  3. Review evidenced-based recommendations in the management of emergent infectious diseases

National audience of state and local public health professionals and their partners (e.g., healthcare professionals, EMS personnel, law enforcement, media representatives, etc).
